Grape Expectations
Celebration of the Grape Harvest
Every February we celebrate the grape harvest with a weekend of fun and laughter and the age-old tradition of grape stomping, in the Cape Winelands. A visit to the Cape Winelands is an absolute must as the region is one of breathtaking vistas and majestic mountain backdrops. Rolling vineyards and quaint Cape Dutch homesteads, as well as award-wining wine farms offering South African much spoken about wines.
Join us on this celebration. Pick grapes, and stomp them by using your feet and leave with our own bottle of your own pressed wine. After this thirsty work, enjoy an al fresco lunch of freshly baked breads, farm style charcuterie and artisan cheese, all produced in the area. Sip wine overlooking the vineyards, talking to the wine maker and learning more about faming wine. The trip includes luxury accommodation, degustation dinners, visits to local fromagerie's, and in Samp and Soufflé tradition an opportunity to enjoy interactive cooking events with the most celebrated chefs in South Africa.
The South African winelands are divided into various different regions, each offering their own "wine route". The most popular are, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Wellington and Paarl. Not to be forgotten are the highly acclaimed wine estates in the Constantia Valley, close to the city centre and located in beautiful surroundings with stunning mountain backdrops, the Constantia boasts some of the oldest estates and award winning wines.
